You've Got Work to Do

Some clip art from the General Foods Cookbook, 1959, Random House.
This little bit of clip art tells a tale. Cooking looks like the primary job, followed by yard work, taking care of the baby, serving food(to the family or working as a waitress? The little hat is unclear) - and the last one in the upper right-hand corner has me a bit stumped. Is that sketching hairdos? Is it meant to represent taking care of your appearance? Any thoughts?

I believe it means giving a presentation in front of a Board of Directors - but thats just my opinion

I think it's supposed to represent her volunteer work - you know, ladies' committees, fundraisers, etc. It's the maid's cap that has me confused...but now that I look at i am wondering if that actually isn't her doing laundry...like ironing...and that could be some sort of bandana or head covering?

Definitely she's president of a 'ladies' committee or club!

I agree - thanks to everyone for helping me solve it!

My thought - the hat -could be wearing it helps keep the hair out of the food,or could be shown as a hat and it could be a hairnet.
She wears many hats - I would say she is making a presentation at a PTA meeting.
Just thought I'd give my 2 cents worth!
