Getting Ready

Betty Crocker's Party Book, 1960.

Christmas Decorations

Santa Claus Cupcakes

Bake cupcakes using white or yellow cake mix. Prepare frosting - color half the frosting bright red. To frost, place cupcakes upside-down around the edge of a cooling rack. Using white frosting, form a beard, then bring the nose area up into a peak. Put a "red hot" cinnamon candy on the peak for a nose. Make eyes with currants (or chocolate chips) dipping one side in frosting to make it stick. Place a little white frosting along the top of the cupcake with red frosting brought up to a point. Add a small piece of marshmallow for a tassel. Leave on the rack until frosting sets.
