Peanut Butter Cake
Sift together...
2 1/4 cup cake flour
2 1/8 regular flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp salt
add...
1/3 cup soft shortening
1/3 cup peanut butter
1 cup milk
beat 2 min.
add...
2 eggs
beat 2 mins.
Pour into prepared pans. Bake at 350 for 25 to 30 mins. square or oblong 35 to 40 mins.

Peanut Butter Fudge Frosting
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2/3 cup milk or cream
1/3 cup peanut butter

Cook without stirring to a soft ball stage, keeping covered the first three minutes. Remove from heat. Let stand until cool. Add peanut butter when mixture is cool

Hot Tamale Pie

Hot Tamale Pie
Picturesque dish form Old Mexico...
Cook in 1 tbsp butter until golden brown
1 medium sized onion
1 green pepper
Romove from skillet. Add and brown...
3/4 lb. ground pork
3/4 il. ground beef
Add and simmer 20 min...

2 cups cooked tomatoes
2 ot 3 tsp chili powder
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 cup ripe olives, sliced
Line bottom and sides of a 2 qt. cassarole with corm meal mush. Pour in hot meat mixture. Top with remaining corm meal mush. Bake. Serve hot. Temp. 375 for 1 hour.

Corn Meal Mush
mix 1 cup cold water with 1 cup corn meal. Stir in 3 cups boling water, 1 tsp. salt. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture boils. Cover, cook over boiling water 30 min., stirring constantly.
