Loud Elevator Music

May 27th, 2008

The Cleveland Regional Transit Authority has - for reasons beyond my understanding - cranked the volume e on the elevator music in their Train waiting areas in Tower City way up. Though it may amuse my ironic side to hear a watered down version of “Every Breath You Take”, after a while it’s pure torture to endure this background music thrust forward onto a stage where it cannot be ignored. I’ve written a complaint via the GCRTA web site, and will post the results here, without prior cynicism as I am sometimes known the exhibit.

Update: 6/17/08. No reply, and yeah, it’s not fixed.

When I arrived at the station the other day, I was rather surprised to hear something that sounded suspiciously like Zamfir covering the Scorpions. It made me want to stick sharp objects in my ears.
